Midwifery study and doula care for pregnant women.

To accent her care of treating babies and pregnant women, Emma commenced further studies at Australian Catholic University in 2014, and completed her Lamaze accredited certification in birth education in 2019.  She has a special interest in treating women for antenatal care, during labour and birth as well as post natal care and early childhood using natural therapies and homoeopathy.  One of her goals is to be a future home birth midwife.  She completed the professional birth support (doula) course in 2017 and is currently available to assist families with their pregnancy, labour and birth and post natal support.

Volunteer work and Community engagement:

Emma has a compassionate nature, and has for many years participated in volunteer work and community engagement.  In January 2005, a group of homoeopaths flew to India for an intensive program at the ML Dhawale memorial homoeopathic hospital in Palghar.  This inspired us to create an outpatients clinic in Australia, particularly to allow new graduate homoeopaths and students the opportunity to learn and observe homoeopathy.   The result was the founding of the homoeopathy clinic at the Sacred Heart Mission in St Kilda for underprivileged individuals.  As Emma was one of the practitioners who helped pioneer this clinic, she continued to do volunteer work there for many years, unfortunately it has now closed.  In 2014 and '15, Emma added to her community engagement repertoire by volunteering at OzChild by regularly visiting a local family who are suffering some challenges.  She also volunteered fortnightly at Pregnancy Assistance Frankston who provide needs for pregnant women and their infants, many who cannot afford the basic needs and neccessary care pregnant women and infants should have.  As part of her midwifery training, Emma underwent community engagement and professional placement working with childbearing women including continuity of care and clinical placements.

About us

Emma graduated with Bachelor of Health Science from the Southern School of Natural Therapies as a naturopath in 2001, after running her own business in therapeutic and sports massage.

After graduating as a naturopath, she carried out some post graduate study of modules in homoeopathy.  She gained a positive reputation treating babies, children and pregnant women from the start.

Alongside this, she continued her sports medicine, adding naturopathic sports nutrition and homoeopathy for sports injuries.

To update her skills for this, Emma completed the Certificate IV in Fitness, which included managing the nutrition and weight management program at Curves women's fitness centre.

Emma has worked as a trainer and assessor and clinical supervisor for naturopath, nutrition and herbal medicine students as well as voluntarily assisted students for their clinical observation hours.

Emma is a qualified professional birth support professional (doula) and a Lamaze certified childbirth educator and currently works with women, children and families as well as NDIS clients with disabilities of various types.  Emma also facilitates clinical trial of herbal medicine products for Southern Cross University as she is passionate about clinical research on natural therapeutics.
